What is this game?

People Onet is a cheerful and colorful Onet-style matching game. In this version, traditional Mahjong tiles or fruit icons are replaced with a variety of cute, stylized character portraits. Your goal is to clear the entire board by finding and connecting two identical character cards before the time runs out. Designed for players who enjoy classic matching mechanics, testing their observation skills, and seeking a stress-free casual experience. Each round typically takes 2 to 5 minutes, making it the perfect companion for waiting in line, commuting, or taking a short break.

How to Play

The game starts with a grid of character cards. You must tap (or click) two cards featuring the exact same character portrait. The critical rule is: the line connecting these two cards cannot have more than two 90-degree turns (the '3-line rule'), and the path must not be blocked by any other cards. Upon a successful connection, the two cards disappear, freeing up space for future matches. You pass the level if you clear all cards within the time limit. As you progress, the number of cards increases, layouts become more complex, and dynamic effects like gravity drops or shifting rows may be introduced.

Beginner Tips

  • Start with adjacent pairs: At the beginning, quickly scan the board for identical cards sitting right next to each other. They require zero turns and can be cleared instantly.
  • Clear the perimeter: Cards on the absolute outer edge of the grid are very easy to connect by routing the line through the empty outside space. Prioritize them to open up the board.
  • Keep your eyes moving: If you get stuck, don't stare fixedly at two cards trying to force a path. Let your eyes roam the entire screen to find easier, completely different pairs.
  • Use hints when stuck: If you can't find a match for over 10 seconds, decisively tap the 'Hint' button. Don't let the timer drain while you stubbornly search.
  • Shuffle opportunistically: If the current board feels terrible and full of dead ends, use the 'Shuffle' item to rearrange the cards. It often instantly clears up the situation.

Advanced Strategy

Purposeful 'tunneling': In advanced levels, don't just clear randomly. If you see two inner cards you want to connect, purposefully clear the specific cards blocking them, digging a 'tunnel' through the board.

Anticipate dynamic shifts: If the level features gravity drops after clearing, mentally anticipate the new layout before making a move to avoid breaking up pairs that are currently connectable.

Save outer 'lifelines': Sometimes there are easy outer matches. You can intentionally save them. When the inner board is stuck and you have no shuffles, clearing these outer cards buys time or subtly alters the board state.

Common Mistakes

Ignoring the timer: Playing too relaxedly and forgetting the ticking countdown at the top of the screen, realizing too late that time has run out.

Memory confusion: Character cards can look similar (e.g., just different hair colors). Players often tap two different characters based on a vague impression, wasting valuable time.

Forgetting the '3-line' rule: Sometimes two cards are close, but an obstacle makes a connection require three turns. Players tap frantically to no avail because they miscalculated the corners.

Who is this game for?

This game is highly suitable for players of all ages who enjoy Onet-style mechanics. Whether it's children wanting to train focus and observation, or adults needing a simple, repetitive task to relax their brains after high-stress work.

Onet Connect Animal

Arguably one of the most classic versions in this genre; the gameplay is identical, simply swapping character portraits for various cute animal icons.

Mahjong Solitaire

The granddaddy of matching. Though it involves clearing unblocked edge tiles rather than drawing lines, the demand on visual search and memory is highly similar.

Tile Master

Another popular pattern-matching game, but it uses a mechanic where you place three identical cards into a bottom slot to clear them, offering a slightly different pace.
