What is this game?

Circles is an innovative, minimalist match-3 game featuring abstract styles. It ditches complex patterns like candies or gems, returning to the most basic geometric element: colored circles. The game not only requires swapping to match three circles of the same color but may also incorporate special mechanics like ring-stacking (placing small circles inside larger ones) or line-drawing. It's designed for casual puzzle gamers tired of traditional flashy match-3s, who prefer pure color and logic collision, and seek the thrill of fast combos. Each round takes minutes, making it an excellent brain relaxant.

How to Play

In its most basic mode, the game presents a grid filled with colored circles. Players swipe to swap the positions of two adjacent circles. When three or more circles of the same color align horizontally or vertically, they are eliminated and converted to points, with circles above falling to fill the gaps. In some variants, you might need to nest different-sized circles of the same color to clear them, or draw lines connecting adjacent identical circles. Each level has specific goals: reaching a target score, clearing a quota of specific colored circles, or breaking obstacles (like frozen grey rings) within a move limit. Matching 4 or more spawns bomb circles for massive explosions.

Beginner Tips

  • Start from the bottom: The classic match-3 rule; always prioritize swapping at the bottom of the grid. This triggers massive drops from above, freely causing unexpected chain reactions.
  • Focus on the target color: If the mission is to collect 20 blue circles, don't clear red just for fun. Every single move must serve to get you closer to the task objective.
  • Look for 'T' or 'L' shapes: Don't just settle for three. Take an extra second to try forming a cross or corner shape with 5 circles. This generates a highly destructive area bomb.
  • Save moves for high scores: If you complete the goal long before running out of moves, the remaining moves turn into special effects during the finale, granting massive points. So, be efficient.
  • Don't detonate bombs hastily: When you synthesize a bomb circle, don't swipe it immediately. Try to move it to the densest obstacle area, or wait for another bomb to drop nearby to combine them.

Advanced Strategy

Bomb fusion reactions (Combos): This is the only way out of difficult levels. Swapping a line-clearing circle with an area-bomb circle triggers an incredible cross explosion, wiping out huge areas regardless of terrain.

Precise drop control (Card counting): Before clearing a group, anticipate the colors dropping from above. Advanced players intentionally clear bottom junk colors to 'guide' needed colors from above into specific spots to build ultimates.

Prioritize breaking disruptors: Some levels feature spreading 'virus circles' or chains. Ignore normal colors; immediately plan routes to completely eradicate these disruptors that restrict your space.

Common Mistakes

Dazzled blind swiping: Facing a screen full of pure circles easily causes visual fatigue; when stuck, players swipe randomly. This wastes precious moves and breaks formations that could have formed 4-matches.

Over-relying on system hints: After stuck for 3 seconds, the system flashes a circle. Rookies follow it blindly, but system hints usually offer the lowest-yield, worst moves, severely hindering breakthroughs.

Misjudging special circles: Casually swapping an ultimate circle (that clears all of one color) with the scarcest color on the board, drastically reducing its power and wasting a precious resource.

Who is this game for?

Circles is for all match-3 lovers who have aesthetic fatigue from overly flashy candy or gem art styles. The minimalist geometric style lets the brain focus purely on logical calculation, making it a superb mental massage for commutes or breaks.
